We were tasked to renovate a 1797 barn in Historic Southport for the dual uses of an entrepreneur’s home office and his grandchildren’s visiting play area. The project embraces the texture and candor of the building’s history while infusing it with natural day light. It also merges the ironic discord between a well-practiced work routine and the creative commotion of young children. The result is a sun filled space peppered with evidence of the structures history and adapted to contemporary living.
